“Customers (SHIPPERS) want to hear exactly what you are going to do for them!”

 

Here are the Questions/Concerns customers (shippers) generally want to know before giving you freight:

  • “Are you going to pick up my freight on time?”

  • “Are you going to get it to my customer on time?  Without destroying it?”

  • “Are you going to be there when I call on you?”

 

“I’m in trucking and the transportation industry.  I have checked you guys out.  I know what you move.  I know how you do it.  I do not claim to know everything, but I want to work for you guys.  WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST PROBLEM?  WHERE DO YOU NEED HELP MOST?  HOW CAN I HELP YOU?  (THIS IS SAID IN-PERSON TO THE LOGISTICS/SHIPPING PERSON)

 

CRITERIA FOR CONSIDERING BRINGING ON NEW CARRIERS:

  • “How many trucks (assets) do you have?”

  • “Where are you based?”

  • “How often do you put trucks here?”  (Here being where you have freight from your customers)

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AS A BROKER?  1 YEAR?  5 YEARS?

 

***BEST TIME TO CALL SHIPPERS:  TUESDAYS, WEDNESDAYS, AND THURSDAYS

 

***BUSIEST TIMES BROKERS ARE MOVING LOADS:  MONDAYS, FRIDAYS

8.  Bond is filed electronically
